A cosmetic dental consultation is informative and enjoyable. As the patient, you’ll have the opportunity to describe your goals and expectations. If this is your first visit to the practice, you’ll discover whether you feel comfortable with our dentist and other members of the treatment team. Successful cosmetic dentistry consultations help us provide the highest level of dental care.
This is the time to ask questions about possible procedures such as teeth whitening. You can look at pictures of actual porcelain veneer patients and dental implant recipients. Our cosmetic dentistry patients really get excited when they see images of the possible results for their teeth.
By listening effectively and asking the right questions, Dr. Steven W. Titensor can fully assess the many variables unique to your needs.
Dr. Steven W. Titensor thoroughly examines teeth, gums and biting function. Complete dental digital x-rays are taken. Perfect smiles created at Titensor Family, Implant, Cosmetic & Sedation Dentistry often require crown lengthening.
Crown lengthening surgery is a safe and effective procedure that exposes more of the visible part of the tooth. Some clients undergo crown lengthening surgery at Titensor Family, Implant, Cosmetic & Sedation Dentistry to alter their gummy smile.
A gummy smile refers to upper teeth that appear too short because excess bone and soft tissue covers part of the teeth. When a gummy smile is eliminated, our patients can’t believe how it changes their whole face. They love their new smile which reveals pleasing, symmetrical portions of their upper teeth.
Sometimes, a client needs crown lengthening because of tooth fracture. When a tooth breaks at the gum line or a crown is fractured, crown lengthening makes tooth structure accessible for the necessary restoration.
Digital imaging is one of the technological tools that helps Lewisville advanced family dental professionals perform crown lengthening and other cosmetic dentistry procedures. When a Lewisville cosmetic dentist has a highly-detailed, 3-D image of tooth and bone structure, he/she is able to achieve the precision necessary to design smiles to the patient’s exact specifications.

To remain dense, your jaw bone requires the continual stimulation and pressure of chewing, biting and talking. Each of your teeth has a root structure attached to the surrounding bone material. As each tooth absorbs the forces of everyday mouth function, it stimulates the bone to which the root is attached.
When a tooth is extracted, the jaw bone that previously surrounded the root structure begins to recede. Though tooth extraction is often the only possible treatment for our cosmetic dentistry patients with tooth damage beyond repair, every effort should be made to preserve the root structure.
Fortunately, tooth implants provide a new root which keeps the surrounding bone healthy and strong. A dental implant consists of a titanium post which is placed in the jaw bone. It replaces the original root and eventually integrates into the surrounding bone. After the implant has been placed and the surrounding bone has healed and meshed with the implant, a post is inserted into the implant. The new artificial tooth, or crown, is then attached to the post. Implant dentistry is a safe and effective treatment for tooth loss.

Wishing for a whiter smile but not sure how to get it? New to tooth whitening lingo? At Titensor Family, Implant, Cosmetic & Sedation Dentistry, we educate clients on the variety of affordable teeth whiting treatments; from teeth whitening trays to Zoom whitening. We do smile whitening every day.
Almost every toothpaste claims to whiten teeth, but as we age our teeth gradually turn yellow or gray, despite all the whitening toothpastes we use regularly. Tooth enamel, while one of the hardest substances in the body, is porous. Over time, the food and drinks that comes in contact with our teeth cause staining and discoloration. You probably have already discovered that a toothbrush cannot clean these microscopic pores.
Carbamide peroxide and hydrogen peroxide are the two main tooth whitening ingredients. They can penetrate the outer layer of your teeth to remove the build-up, and help restore whitening to teeth. Call Titensor Family, Implant, Cosmetic & Sedation Dentistry in Flower Mound at 469-293-1040 to schedule an appointment and we will explain the difference between these tooth bleaching ingredients and how they may affect your smile whitening results.
At-home teeth whitening products are probably not a good choice if you have dental crowns or porcelain veneers. You could end up with extremely uneven results or possible damage to your existing cosmetic dentistry.
We know the best teeth bleaching options and can recommend the perfect white smile solution for you.
At Titensor Family, Implant, Cosmetic & Sedation Dentistry located in Flower Mound, we hope to see you soon. Give us a call at 469-293-1040.
