Dental Check Up

When is the last time you had a dental checkup? Most people in the Flower Mound area between the ages of 20 and 80 need a dental checkup every six months. If you live in Flower Mound and are at higher risk for gum disease or oral diseases, you should have your teeth checked every four months, or at least three times a year.

Come into our office, located at 1901 Long Prairie Rd., Flower Mound, TX, or give us a call to make a dental appointment. You can visit our website at http://www.SmilesBySteve.com for more information.

Most people in our Flower Mound community are in a medium to low risk category. However if you use tobacco or alcohol, eat a lot of sugar in your diet (including lots of soda), or have poor oral hygiene habits, you are likely in a higher risk category and should have your teeth checked right away.

I look at a lot of factors to determine your personal dental hygiene, and your dental outlook for your future. I want you to have the healthiest smile possible so that you can enjoy your teeth for many years without significant problems. If you live in the Flower Mound area and are ready to have your teeth checked, please give Titensor Family, Implant, Cosmetic & Sedation Dentistry a call. We offer expert general dentistry services.

Our friendly treatment staff will be ready to get you started with a dental checkup.

Talk to you soon.

Going to the dentist for the first time in Flower Mound, or if you have not been for while, can be an unsettling experience for both kids and adults. The very idea of a ‘dentist’ seems to hold negative connotation for many people. If you are an adult who is moving to the Flower Mound area, or your child is preparing to visit the dentist for the first time, here are a few tips that may help ease you into regular dental checkups and put you on the path toward increased oral health and wellness.

Choose an Flower Mound dentist who is appropriate for your needs. When you meet your new Flower Mound dentist for the first time, make an effort to ask questions about the care you will receive. Ask questions that are relevant to your situation including questions about experience, age range of patients, and recommended procedures for any conditions you may have. Get to know your Flower Mound dentist so you feel comfortable with the care you will receive.

Introduce yourself to your Flower Mound dentist and get to know the office staff. Visiting the dentist in Flower Mound will seem less of a chore when you feel you have trusted friends who are there to help.

Be prepared to provide your Flower Mound dentist with information. Whether you are experiencing specific pain at that moment, or anticipating a problem, be sure to discuss everything with your dentist. Many patients become intimidated in the office environment and avoid expressing pain or discussing issues. As your dentist, I need to know everything you are experiencing and will be better prepared to help as you ask questions and express your concerns.

I understand that everyone is unique; what works for one person may not work for another. You know what works best for you, and the best way to have a good experience with a Flower Mound dentist is to communicate. Let me know what you are experiencing so that I can make adjustments and help you feel more comfortable and secure.

At Titensor Family, Implant, Cosmetic & Sedation Dentistry our friendly with advanced treatment staff will work to make your dental experience a pleasant one. We know it can be frightening to visit the dentist for the first time, or after a long while. We’ll do what we can to make you feel comfortable, secure, and among caring friends.

Let’s Talk About Your Smile

I am Dr. Steven Titensor of Titensor Family, Implant, Cosmetic & Sedation Dentistry. Our office is located at 1901 Long Prairie Rd., Suite 320, Flower Mound, TX 75022. One of the best things about being a Flower Mound area dentist is interacting with our patients. During initial dental consultations, we listen carefully to our patient’s short and long term dental goals.

We enjoy discussing options and developing effective treatment plans tailored specifically to each person. Some of our clients desire a total smile makeover. We explain in detail the treatments available including teeth whitening, dental veneers, orthodontia, crown restoration, and dental implants.

If a client is nervous about undergoing treatment, we discuss conscious sedation. Sleep dentistry, sometimes called sedation dentistry, is a great option for anxious patients. Dental visits do not have to be painful!

After the treatment has been completed, it is very gratifying for us to see our patient’s reaction to their new smile.

We never get tired of creating dramatic smile transformations for the best clients in Texas!

If you have been considering a smile makeover, let’s talk about your smile. Call Titensor Family, Implant, Cosmetic & Sedation Dentistry today to schedule a cosmetic dentistry consultation.

Hate Your Dentures?

Dallas Dentistry Implant Perhaps you have heard or seen the Dallas dental industry’s advertising about dental implants. Most Flower Mound dentists claim that dental implant dentures can change your life. Does this sound like hype? Exaggeration?

Let’s look at the facts about dental implant anchored dentures in Dallas:

Chewing: An oral implant denture can restore up to 95 percent of normal chewing function. How important is chewing? Can you chew easily with your current full or partial denture? Can you bite apples? When was the last time you ate a raw carrot?

Fit: Implant anchored dentures stay in place. An implant denture doesn’t slide around in your mouth and cause sores. Implant denture wearers who exercise regularly especially appreciate this benefit.

Appearance: How does your smile look? Can you smile confidently? How many  denture wearers love their smile? Implant anchored dentures look like natural teeth. They don’t move when you smile, eat, talk, bike, swim, dance, golf, ski; you get the idea.

Bone health: When teeth are extracted, bone recession can occur over time (in fact, this happens in almost every case). Because a titanium implant is an artificial ‘tooth root’ inserted into your jaw bone, your bone has a better chance of staying healthy. If there are no other adverse conditions present, your jaw bone should remain strong and dense, just as if the original tooth root were there.

If you hate your dentures and live in Lewisville or Grapevine, why don’t you come in for a consultation about dental implants and mini-implants? We can discuss all the particulars including procedure specifics, healing time and dental implant cost. Then you can decide for yourself if Implant dentures will, as promised, change your life.

Veneers Create Stunning Smiles in Lewisville

Veneers Create Stunning Smiles in Dallas Veneers have myriad applications in Lewisville cosmetic smile dentistry. With veneers, you can transform your smile without significant restorative dental work.

Is your tooth enamel worn and thin? Tooth-colored porcelain veneers have the translucency of healthy tooth enamel. Many Dallas dental clients have received veneers to cover worn enamel. Some believe they look twenty years younger!

Have your teeth developed uneven edges? Tooth grinding, natural wear and other factors can roughen tooth edges. Veneers are a minimally invasive correction for uneven tooth edges. Veneers are a popular treatment for Lewisville cosmetic dentistry patients.

Do you have chips or cracks in your teeth? If your teeth are otherwise healthy, veneers provide a flawless tooth surface. Are your teeth yellow or gray? Veneers can fix that, too. Veneers can be fabricated in any shade to perk up your smile while still blending naturally with your skin tones.

Porcelain veneers are paper-thin, tooth-shaped covers that are affixed to the front of teeth. Traditional veneers required the removal of a thin layer of tooth structure. Prepless veneers are applied to unaltered teeth.

Veneers are strong, natural looking and one of the most affordable cosmetic dentistry procedures in Lewisville and Grapevine. Veneers are usually far less expensive than complete crowns, yet they are just as strong and beautiful.

Lewisville aesthetic dentists love veneers because they correct a multitude of tooth problems. At Titensor Family, Implant, Cosmetic & Sedation Dentistry, we would be happy to show you what veneers can do for you. Titensor Family, Implant, Cosmetic & Sedation Dentistry is located at 1901 Long Prairie Rd., Flower Mound, TX in Flower Mound. Live Better With Dental Implants in Flower Mound

Flower Mound Implant Dentistry Ill-fitting dentures cause more problems for Dallas denture wearers than they solve. If you live with loose dentures, you probably regard them as a necessary evil. Though they certainly look better than a toothless mouth, in practical terms they leave much to be desired because they affect two essential activities: eating and talking.

Unfortunately, many frustrated Coppell denture wearers have quit dining in restaurants or engaging in social activities because they are afraid their dentures will slip.

Implant dental procedures at Titensor Family, Implant, Cosmetic & Sedation Dentistry in Flower Mound are allowing former Lewisville denture patients to re-engage in life.

Consider the advantages of implant anchored dentures:

  • They are stable because the implant is anchored in the bone.
  • Your denture is fixed, it will not move around in your mouth.
  • They prevent bone loss that typically occurs when teeth are removed.
  • They eliminate the necessity of regular denture relines.
  • They do not irritate gums.
  • No denture adhesive is required.

Our Lewisville dental implant bone clients who have replaced their traditional dentures with implant overdentures enthusiastically say that the dental implant cost was more than worth it.

Do you want to eat normally again? What is the value of maintaining your facial shape? Can you put a price on confidence?

If you want more information about dental implants, call 469-293-1040 to schedule an implant tooth consultation with Dr. Steven W. Titensor. Titensor Family, Implant, Cosmetic & Sedation Dentistry is located at 1901 Long Prairie Rd., Flower Mound, TX. We have been providing advanced Dallas dental care since 1986.

Straighten Teeth Fast in Flower Mound

Color Braces Poorly aligned teeth? Think it takes forever for braces to straighten them? Think again. There are many new types of braces available in Flower Mound. In some cases, teeth can be straightened in a few months and then, with braces off–a fantastic new smile.

If you are considering straightening your teeth, come into Titensor Family, Implant, Cosmetic & Sedation Dentistry in Flower Mound for an orthodontic consultation. We can discuss the new types of braces. Dr. Steven W. Titensor, DDS, will explain the pros and cons of each type and recommend the most effective (and quickest!) system for your teeth.

The first things most adult Dallas teeth-straightening clients ask about are the newer systems, sometimes called clear braces and adult braces. Invisalign and damon braces are two brand names of alternative orthodontic systems popular in Coppell and Lewisville. Many of our adult orthodontic patients have been embarrassed by their crooked teeth for many years and have developed a habit of covering their mouth when they smile. It is great to see them smiling confidently after they have completed treatment.

Younger clients usually have a different attitude about braces. They seem to consider braces more like a fashion accessory and are not afraid to show them off. Dallas area teens are interested in color braces and colored rubber bands braces. During orthodontic consultations, they usually ask about the possibility of a clear retainer to maintain teeth alignment after their braces have done their job.

Bright Purple Mouth When You Smile In Flower Mound?

Flower Mound Invisalign Remember when Dallas adolescents undergoing orthodontic treatment were mortified by their metal mouth? Thankfully, those days are over. The Flower Mound teens of today wear their braces proudly and make no effort to hide them. They know they don’t need to wait until their teeth are aligned to flaunt a striking smile; they enjoy flashing their brightly-colored braces in all their glory.

Another plus? Just as they mix and match their clothes and shoes, teens can change their wires and bands every time they visit their Coppell dentist or orthodontist. Braces have become another fun way for Lewisville and Grapevine fashion-forward teens to express their personality.

Of course, there are still some kids (and many adults!) that are not thrilled about having metallic fuchsia bands and neon yellow wires adorning their teeth. Discrete Invisalign aligners are virtually undetectable and straighten teeth just as quickly and effectively as metal braces. Another benefit of the Invisalign system is that the aligners are not permanently attached to the teeth. Invisalign aligners are easily slipped out for brushing, flossing, meals, and sports. If your Flower Mound child plays a musical instrument that defies traditional braces, removable aligners may be the best option.

If you or one of your children need orthodontic treatment in the Dallas area, call Titensor Family, Implant, Cosmetic & Sedation Dentistry at 469-293-1040 to schedule a consultation with Dr. Steven W. Titensor. Titensor Family, Implant, Cosmetic & Sedation Dentistry is located at 1901 Long Prairie Rd., Flower Mound, TX in Flower Mound. We also provide comprehensive restorative and cosmetic dentistry. If you need affordable state-of-the-art dental care in Flower Mound, let us tell you about our financing options.

Whatever your age, if you want to straighten your teeth, we have wires and bands to match every outfit in your closet!

Oral Conscious Sedation

Some people experience severe anxiety when undergoing dental treatment. With oral conscious sedation, it is possible to relax during dental procedures instead of being tense and fearful. Oral sedation dentistry, relaxation dentistry, conscious sedation and anxiety-free dentistry are all terms used to describe this type of treatment. In addition to alleviating anxiety, oral conscious sedation can help patients with a variety of conditions.

You may want to consider oral conscious sedation if you have any of the following issues:

  • Strong gag reflex
  • Fear of needles
  • Sensitive teeth
  • Fear and anxiety associated with dental treatment
  • Difficulty getting numb
  • A history of negative dental experiences
  • Trouble controlling body movement due to Parkinson’s disease, Cerebral Palsy or related condition
  • Need extensive dental treatment requiring lengthy dental visits

If you have avoided dental treatment due to any of these factors, give us a call at 469-293-1040. We can give you more information about sedation options and help you determine which one is right for you. At Titensor Family, Implant, Cosmetic & Sedation Dentistry we do all we can to make your visit as comfortable as possible. We look forward to discussing your oral health and dental goals.
